“Our main goal at the beginning of each season is to win every competition we’re involved in. To come back as world champions would be a fantastic achievement and something we’d like to be really proud,” he says.
“We know it will not be easy because we are against some good teams. But we are well prepared – we are approaching half of the season and we all feel pretty convenient.
“These are the games you want to be playing and hope we can win.”
United should put an end to the victory of the tournament, insists that Rooney is going to savor every precious moment.
“I remember saying after Giggsy who won the Champions League this year who enjoyed a more than 99 this because when I was younger he did not take it as far as this one,” explained the 23 years of age.
“After hearing that, I really tried to take everything in and enjoy things as much as I can, and I will do the same in Japan.”
